The trend became popular mainly in the United States, at a time when users are trying to reduce expenses in the face of inflation. Among the videos published, the vast majority are from young people. Reports show that they face difficulties in organizing themselves financially and understanding how much money they really have. You know that practice of “I’ll use my credit card and then I’ll see what happens”? It is precisely against this that supporters of cash stuffing fight. Here in Brazil, the practice gained the name of financial binder.

But is cash stuffing really that new?

Not even! What happens is that, with the greater use of cards and with establishments increasingly accepting paper money less and less, the bank ended up becoming the “modus operandi” for money and purchases. After all, it's even more practical and safer to use a card than carrying bills and notes, right?

What changes is the profile of the generation Z e millennials This audience is constantly influenced by content on social media, ends up bordering on consumerism and drowns in debt from a young age.

Is it worth keeping money at home?

On the one hand, the TikTok trend may be encouraging many people to save money. Another extremely important factor when considering the reality of Brazil concerns security when storing large amounts at home. “There is an objective security problem. We live in a country that has a public security risk, so keeping larger volumes of money at home increases your risk”, explains Dalella.
