City of God (2002)
Buscapé is a poor, black and very sensitive young man, who grows up in a world of great violence. He lives in Cidade de Deus, a Rio favela known for being one of the most violent places in the city. Frightened by the possibility of becoming a criminal, Buscapé ends up being saved from his fate because of his talent as a photographer, which allows him to pursue a career in the profession.

Dona HermÃnia is a middle-aged woman, divorced from her husband, who left her for a younger woman. Shortly after Dona Carmelita's death, at the age of 94, the residents of a small village located in the Brazilian hinterland, called Bacurau, discovered that the community no longer appears on any map. Little by little, they notice something strange in the region: while drones fly through the skies, foreigners arrive in the city for the first time. When cars become victims of gunfire and dead bodies begin to appear, Teresa, Domingas, Acácio, PlÃnio, Lunga and other inhabitants come to the conclusion that they are being attacked.
