The bombings occurred after the Crimean bridge, which connects the Moscow-annexed peninsula with Russia, was partially destroyed by a truck bomb explosion on Saturday.

Russian President Vladimir Putin blamed Ukraine for the explosion.
In recent weeks, Russia has suffered several defeats and lost ground in southern and northeastern Ukraine.
The city of Lviv in western Ukraine, largely spared fighting with the Russian army so far, was bombed on Monday morning, regional governor Maxim Kozitskii said.

“The energy infrastructures of the Lviv region were bombed,” Kozitskii declared on Telegram, asking residents to “remain in shelters” against “the threat of further attacks.”
From the first weeks this appeared to be the largest wave of bombings of the war. Russia launched 83 missiles at Ukraine, more than 43 were shot down by Ukrainian anti-aircraft defenses.
