What is the theme of this year's parade?

The block has an activist streak mixed with carnival. Known for his stance on the need to fight for the right to leisure and the occupation of the streets, this year's theme will be the song immortalized in the voice of Gal Costa, “Attentive and Strong”. The objective is to reinforce that the biggest celebration of expression of Brazilian popular culture is also a political act.

When will the parade be?

The Baixo Augusta Academics parade will take place on the day February 12 (Sunday). The concentration will be on Rua da Consolação, close to the corner with Avenida Paulista. The guest of honor will be the Olodum group, present throughout the route. Actress Sophie Charlotte, who played Gal Costa in the unreleased film Gal Fatal, and singers Marina Sena, Tulipa Ruiz and Céu will pay tribute to the artist, who passed away in November 2022.

Can I enjoy a rehearsal before the party?

Without a doubt! The warm-up for the parade will be attended by Wilson Simoninha, puller and musical director of the block, commanding the public together with André Frateschi and the Baixo Augusta band. The court remains with Alessandra Negrini as queen, Marcelo Rubens Paiva as standard bearer, Márcia Dailyn and Walério Araújo respectively as muse and muse and Tulipa Ruiz as godmother.
