Stay tuned: your voting place may change, warns Electoral Justice

Most regional electoral courts (TREs) are warning about changes made to voting locations and reinforcing the need for voters to check the location of their polling station before leaving home, even if they have always voted in the same location. O Curto News helps you check.

In the capital of São Paulo, for example, the city's largest voting center, the Centro Universitário Anhanguera, which served 25 thousand people, was closed. These voters were redistributed to three other polling locations.

The changes occur in all regions, from North to South of Brazil.

Survey of Agency Brazil found alerts of changes in at least 17 states and the Federal District, but the most likely, according to the Electoral Court, is that there will be adjustments in the distribution of voters in all units of the Federation.

Advance consultation

To check the voting location in advance, voters have several options. Verification can be done on the TSE portal, in the Voter and Elections tab, at the top of the page. Then, click on the option Polling place/electoral zones.

e-Title

Another option is the e-Título application, which works as a digital copy of the voter registration card. Using the tool, which is available in versions for Android and iOS, just do the login with your information and then go to Where to vote. A new screen will open, with data about the section, zone and address.

In most locations, the application also offers a georeferencing service, indicating the location of the polling station on a map.

It is worth remembering that the application cannot be downloaded on election day, must be installed and configured at least by the Saturday before the election.

chatbot

This year, the TSE created, in partnership with WhatsApp, a virtual assistant through which voters can ask where their voting location is. Just send a “hi” to the number +55 61 996371078  on WhatsApp or click on link https://wa.me/556196371078 and save the contact to receive the contents of the muzzle.

Checking the polling place must be done as follows: in the main menu, simply click on Access the Chatbot and then see topics. Next, within Voter Services, choose the Polling location option. From there, the query can be made using full name, voter ID or CPF.

“When you enter any of these details, along with the date of birth and the mother’s full name, the application will present the result, with information about the electoral domicile – zone, section, location, address and municipality – and with a map that indicates, precisely, the place where the voter must appear to vote on October 2nd, the first round of the 2022 Elections”, explains the TSE.
