STF closes majority against Bolsonaro's decrees that increase access to weapons

The Federal Supreme Court formed a majority and maintained the suspension of weapons decrees created by President Jair Bolsonaro. Six of the 11 ministers have already spoken out. The trial ends on Tuesday (20).

The majority of ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) voted to maintain Minister Edson Fachin's decisions to suspend sections of decrees by President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) that facilitated the purchase and carrying of weapons.

Fachin analyzed, on September 5, three actions that called for a review of these decrees and established the return of restrictions on the acquisition of weapons and ammunition.

In a plenary session this Tuesday (22), ministers Luís Roberto Barroso, Alexandre de Moraes, Gilmar Mendes, Ricardo Lewandowski and Rosa Weber voted to maintain Fachin's decision. Minister Nunes Marques voted against the rapporteur.
