The resolution expands the rule that had already prohibited the carrying of weapons and ammunition within 100 meters of polling stations. The ministers determined on August 30 that the restriction on carrying at polling stations begins to apply 48 hours before the election until 24 hours after. This rule remains.

There was an expectation that the court would vote to close shooting clubs during the elections – a suggestion presented by several entities, such as trade unions, civil police and judges' associations. The President of the Court, Alexandre de Moraes, had alreadypromehad to evaluate the agenda. However, only the restriction on the circulation of CAC weapons was voted on.
