Let's start with this classic! The horror franchise has 12 movies and focuses on the character Jason Voorhees, who drowned as a boy in Camp Crystal Lake due to the negligence of camp staff. Decades later, rumors emerge that the lake is “cursed” and this, consequently, becomes the scene of a series of mass murders.

The franchise has a total of 9 films, in a logical sequence released over ten years until volume 8, starting in the 1980s. But there are also crossovers and remakes. In common, the scary Freddy Krueger invading the dreams – or rather, nightmares – of young people.

The first film in the sequence, The nightmare time tells the story of a group of teenagers who have horrible nightmares in which they are attacked by a deformed man with steel claws. It only appears during sleep and, to escape, you have to wake up. The crimes continue to occur, until it is discovered that the mysterious being is, in fact, Freddy Krueger, a man who molested children on Elm Street and was burned alive in the neighborhood. Friday the 13th: why does the date have a bad reputation?

There is no single explanation why Friday the 13th is known as an unlucky day. A quick search on the internet reveals several hypotheses, some related to each other, of what could justify the fear and trepidation regarding the date.

One would have roots in Christianity, more specifically in the Holy Supper: The number 13 would be the sum of the 12 apostles and Jesus Christ in the Holy Supper. Furthermore, Judas would have sat in the 13th place at the table. (Estadão)

In mythology, the theory is that the god Odin held a banquet with 12 deities. Loki, god of discord and fire, was not invited to the meeting and, upon finding out, he started a mess that ended in the death of one of the guests. Therefore, superstition says that a meeting with 13 people always ends in tragedy (gshow).
