The decree was published this Tuesday (31) in Official Gazette.

The Air Force Command will decide on the necessary actions to regulate and control the airspace “against all types of suspected illicit air traffic” carried out in the territory.
The text informs that “administrative police measures will be taken, such as interdiction of aircraft and equipment supporting illicit activities” which will be carried out by agents from the Federal Police, the Brazilian Institute of the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) and other “bodies and entities of the federal public administration”.
Restricted access
Access to Yanomami territory can only occur if provided for in a joint act published by the ministers of Health and Indigenous Peoples, “with a view to preventing and reducing the risk of transmission of diseases and other injuries”.

The Ministry of Defense will provide intelligence data and logistical air transport to teams that will directly participate in the neutralization of aircraft and equipment related to illegal mining in Yanomami territory.
The decree provides that federal authorities will be responsible for requisitioning goods, servers and services necessary for transporting teams.
The same will happen with the supply of drinking water; supply of food and clothing, opening or reopening of support posts from the National Foundation of Indigenous Peoples (Funai) and basic health units from the Ministry of Health.
