The Roland Berger study foresees the opportunity for green hydrogen represent direct investments in Brazil of around R$600 billion over the next 25 years.
According to research, reducing the cost of electricity to produce green hydrogen in Brazil it can be achieved through:
- use of surplus renewable electricity (wind, solar, hydro and biomass), using current surplus renewable production at much lower generation costs;
- the costs of transmission and distribution of electricity used for the production of green hydrogen should be reduced;
- government exemptions and sectoral charges applied to the electricity bill must be approved.
