Rio de Janeiro is hosting the CS Intel Extreme Masters Season XVII world championship, also known as IEM Rio Major 2022. Several professional teams from around the world have gathered in the Marvelous City since October 31st to compete in Counter-Strike (CS) – a tournament involving shooters in the digital universe.

The long-awaited final gained an extra dose of excitement: there are real chances of giving Brazil the podium: FURIA, a great Brazilian team, made up of Saffee, Kike Cerato, Yuri Boian, André Abreu and Andrei Piovezan came very far in the tournament and showed strength to win.
Unfortunately, the favorite of CSGO fans, FalleN, also Brazilian, will not be in the final. His team Liquid lost to Spirit last Tuesday (8). Despite the defeats, he had a great representation in the competition.
The grand final will soon be at the Jeunesse Arena, in Barra da Tijuca, at 17pm this Sunday (13). As of Friday, there were very few tickets left.

How Does the Competition Work?
CS is a series of computer and shooting games in which players interact online in multiplayer. In battle, there are terrorists against non-terrorists.
At the Major, 16 teams were in contention. The teams that won the first round faced each other in the second. It is always a battle compatible with the number of victories.

For the final stage, only eight of the best teams managed to pass. Afterwards, the teams from the previous stage will join the eight teams with the best seeds in the Regional Major Ranking and face each other in the “best of 3” bracket. The winner is the 2022 Major champion, winning a prize of 500 thousand dollars.
