In January 2013, Pulgar ran over a 65-year-old man and did not provide assistance. The man ended up dying in the hospital. The player did not have a driving license and was convicted in 2014, although he did not serve a prison sentence.

At the end of June this year, the Chilean Public Ministry announced that it was investigating the complaint of a 24-year-old woman who declared that she had suffered sexual assault during a party at the player's house in Santiago.

Pulgar then denied being involved “in any type of complaint or crime” and stated that he gave a statement as a “witness” because he owned the property.
