Of the approximately 150 people treated, most with minor injuries, 39 were transferred to hospitals or primary care centers, according to Transport Minister Raquel Sánchez, in an interview at the scene of the accident.

“Fortunately, and within the spectacular nature of this collision and accident, there were no serious injuries to regret, only slightly injured ones,” he stated. According to her, the causes of the accident are being investigated.
The collision was “between a train that was parked, already stopped, and another train that was carrying out (…) a maneuver that is done frequently”, explained Sánchez.
Rail traffic, which had been halted in both directions, resumed shortly after 10am local time.
