Lawyers want Zambelli's arrest for carrying a weapon on the eve of the election; Psol will ask for the deputy’s impeachment

The group Prerogativas, which brings together jurists linked to the PT, will call for the arrest of federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), an ally of Jair Bolsonaro, for carrying a weapon less than 24 hours before the elections. This Saturday (29), the parliamentarian pointed a pistol at a man she says is a supporter of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in a bar in Jardins, Central region of São Paulo. Representative Sâmia Bonfim, from Psol, informed that the party will ask for the representative's impeachment. On the networks, activists link action with racism.

“She shames the parliamentary mandate that the population of São Paulo gave her. She has to answer for an electoral crime, as she prohibits the transport of weapons 24 hours before the election and 24 hours after. He will also have to answer for breach of parliamentary decorum in the Chamber's Ethics Committee”, says the coordinator of the Prerogatives Group, Marco Aurélio Carvalho.

A resolution from the Electoral Court prohibits “the transportation of weapons and ammunition, throughout the national territory, by collectors, shooters and hunters on Election Day, in the 24 hours preceding it and in the 24 hours following it”.

Two videos are circulating on social media: one of them shows Zambelli cornering a black man in a bar. The deputy posted a statement on social media alleging that she was attacked and thrown to the ground. However, another video shows that she fell. See both versions.

The owner of the Flor de Lima bar, where Zambelli entered with a gun chasing the man who allegedly insulted her, said that she only put the gun away after a man who was with her asked her to. According to Wilton Martins, other customers also made the appeal. The parliamentarian responded to the calls after forcing Lula's supporter to lie down and telling him that she needed to be respectful.

The place where the incident occurred is about 1,5 km from MASP, where hours before there was a gathering for Lula's walk. Zambelli wore a shirt that read “women with Bolsonaro and Tarcísio”.

In a video posted on Zambelli's Instagram, the deputy says that “they used a black man to come at me”, referring to the man who swore at him and who became the target of an armed chase through the streets of the capital of São Paulo. . Police investigation

Investigators from the São Paulo Civil Police seek to identify the man pursued by groups of people who were with the parliamentarian. For now, the police are investigating the hypothesis that the following crimes have occurred: illegal possession of a weapon, bodily injury and discharge of a firearm.

In the latter case, the police say that it will depend on analyzing the direction of the shot to find out whether a more serious crime – attempted murder – occurred. It will be the analysis of the video with the direction of the shot that will show the intention of the man who shot towards the person chased by Zambelli and his group in Jardins.

The case will be registered in the 4th Police District of São Paulo. The police officers' idea is to file a police report for the subsequent opening of a police investigation in order to hear from witnesses and the parties involved in the case about the incident. The videos must be sent to forensics.
