Apple surprises and supports the right to repair devices in California

Em a letter to the senator from California, Susan Talamantes Eggman, Apple states that it endorses the bill SB 244, which requires manufacturers to provide customers and independent repair shops with the appropriate tools, manuals, and parts to repair damaged electronics and appliances.

“A Apple supports the California Right to Repair Act so that all Californians have even more access to repairs while protecting their safety, security and privacy,” said the Apple in a statement to the The Verge . “We create our products to last, and if they ever need repairs, our customers Apple have a growing range of safe, high-quality repair options.”

In the recent past, the Apple even argued that the release of the repair would favor activities linked to “hackers” and withpromewould have the security of the devices.

It is estimated that the state of California generates around 800 thousand tons of electronic waste per year.
