Only six films surpassed the $1 billion mark in their first two weeks.

“Avatar”, the first film in the saga directed by James Cameron, grossed 2,9 billion dollars; a box office record. The animation “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” came in second place on the list of highest-grossing films, grossing US$22 million between Friday and Monday.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” the sequel to the 2018 Marvel film, grossed $6,5 million and came in third place. In eight weeks in theaters, it has already grossed $436 million.
Fourth place went to the biopic about singer Whitney Houston, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, with US$5,4 million, and fifth place went to “Babilônia”, which grossed $3,6 million.
