Bombings against Russian region on the border with Ukraine leave two dead

At least two people died and two were injured this Saturday (3) in new Ukrainian bombings against the Russian border region of Belgorod, said the governor of the territory, the target of attacks in recent days.

“An elderly woman” died from gunfire in the town of Novaya Tavolzhanka, on the border with Ukraine, said Vyacheslav Gladkov in a statement released on Telegram. Another woman succumbed to multiple shrapnel injuries in Bezlyudovka, he added.

The two locations are in the district of Shebekino, a city of 40.000 inhabitants that was the target of attacks in recent days that forced hundreds of residents to flee to the region's capital, Belgorod.

“Since early morning, several locations in the Shebekino district have been under shelling by the Ukrainian army,” said Governor Gladkov.

He stated that five civilians died in the shootings in the Belgorod region on Friday, according to an updated report.
