Casino sells 12,9% of its stake in Brazilian brand Assaí

“Casino today announces the start of the sale of part of its stake in Assaí for up to 174 million shares, which represent 12,9% of Assaí’s capital, to accelerate the reduction of its debt,” says the company in a statement.

“This number could increase to a maximum of 80 million shares, which would represent 5,9% of Assaí’s capital”, adds the note.

Last week, the Casino group announced that it was studying a new project to sell part of its stake in Assaí, with the hope of obtaining 600 million dollars.

At the end of November, the group announced the first sale of part of its stake for almost 500 million dollars.
