Coldplay postpones shows in Brazil; vocalist has lung infection

Coldplay postponed all of its performances in Brazil in October. The announcement was made through the group's Instagram profile. There would be six shows in São Paulo and two in Rio de Janeiro.

“With deep regret, we have been forced to postpone our upcoming shows in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo until early 2023. Due to a serious lung infection, Chris [Martin, vocalist] has been given strict doctor's orders to rest for the next three weeks” , says the statement on Instagram.

The group adds that it is working to announce the new dates and should provide information in the coming days.

Tickets already purchased will be valid for the new series of shows at Coldplay in the country, which should take place at the beginning of next year. Anyone who is not interested in keeping their tickets can request a refund.

“We are optimistic that Chris will return to good health following the prescribed medical break and look forward to resuming touring as soon as possible. To everyone affected, please accept our sincere apologies and thank you as always for your love and support,” he concludes.
