Meet Esther Dweck, Lula's Minister of Management

President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced the name of economist Esther Dweck as Minister of Management, a new portfolio that is being created. The new ministry is the result of the division of the current Ministry of Economy, led by Paulo Guedes. Find out more about her!

Active in the transition of the federal government in coordinating the Planning, Budget and Management technical group, Esther She is a professor of Economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and has a PhD in Economics of Industry and Technology.

Esther Dweck has extensive experience in public sector research

Its main area of ​​activity is economic development, with an emphasis on public sector research, fiscal regime and State participation. 

The new Minister of Management of the Lula Government was elected last year as the Woman Economist of 2021, by the Federal Economic Council (Cofecon). During Dilma Rousseff's government, Esther Dweck occupied spaces within the Ministry of Planning – as economic advisor and Federal Budget secretary.
