Man arrested in London after collision on access to Downing Street

A man was arrested this Thursday (25), after crashing a car into the protective barrier accessing Downing Street, the British Prime Minister's residence, in central London — police reported.

“At around 16:20 pm (12:20 pm in Brasília), a car crashed into the gates of Downing Street in Whitehall”, the avenue into which Downing Street opens.

“Armed officers detained a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving,” police said in a statement.

“No injuries were reported. Investigations are ongoing to determine what happened,” London police added.
