Ibaneis Rocha is removed from the DF government for 90 days

The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes ordered the removal of the governor of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha (MDB) from office for 90 days. The governor would have colluded with the extremist attacks by not preventing - in command of the DF police - Bolsonaro supporters from invading the headquarters of the Three Powers.

The STF minister responded to the request of the government leader in Congress, Randolfe Rodrigues (Rede-AP) about Ibaneis' removal from office. The parliamentarian's request stated that the emedebista is clearly unfit for the position, as images of the attacks on the headquarters of the Three Powers make it clear that the police – who are under government command – were slow to act and allowed the attacks.

“The despicable terrorist attacks on democracy and Republican Institutions will be held responsible, as will the financiers, instigators and previous and current public agents who are conniving and criminals, who continue to commit illegal acts of anti-democratic acts”, stated the minister in the decision.

Moraes also accepted the request of AGU (Attorney General of the Union) for other measures to be taken: to prevent more extremist Bolsonarists from entering the country's capital, buses and trucks with protesters are prohibited from entering the DF until January 31st.

The camp at Brasília HQ must also be dismantled.
