Kim Kardashian is fined for promoting cryptocurrency

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced this Monday (03) that American celebrity Kim Kardashian will pay a fine of US$1,26 million for promoting a cryptocurrency on Instagram, without revealing that she had been paid to do so. . The star also agreed not to promote any type of crypto asset for three years.

The US agency accused Kim Kardashian not to disclose that she had been paid to publish about the EMAX tokens, cryptographic assets offered by EthereumMax.

Kim Kardashian's lawyers said she is pleased to have resolved this matter with the SEC and that she wants to put this case behind her to avoid a prolonged conflict.
