Lewis Hamilton receives title of honorary Brazilian citizen

O pilotFormula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton participated, this Monday (7), in a solemn session at the Chamber of Deputies to receive the title of honorary Brazilian citizen. The honor was given after the Englishman paid tribute to Ayrton Senna, at the Interlagos GP in 2021. 'Now, I can finally say that I am one of you', said Hamilton during the ceremony.

The seven-time world champion is in the country to compete in the Interlagos Grand Prix, which takes place next weekend.

“It is a great honor to receive this title today. Now, I can finally say that I am one of you. I love Brazil, I have always loved Brazil”, said Hamilton.
