New Lord of the Rings films coming

Warner Bros. Discovery and New Line are developing new films from the Lord of the Rings universe. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the media conglomerate has signed a multi-year deal with Embracer Group AB, which owns the copyright to the works of JR R Tolkien. Anxious? 😍

The first result of the partnership will be an animation about the Rohirrim War. The film will take place 183 years before the events of Lord of the Rings and will tell the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand and the legendary King of Rohan. The animation is scheduled to premiere on April 12, 2024.

It's unclear what other stories Warner wants to adapt, but the plan is to maintain the essence of Peter Jackson's trilogy.

There are several new Lord of the Rings films in production by Warner Bros via New Line Cinema, the same studio as the original trilogy.

It looks like Peter Jackson is involved.
