Pazuello threw a party in Manaus at the height of the pandemic and said he would change the chloroquine leaflet, says ex-wife

Dentist Andrea Barbosa, Eduardo Pazuello's ex-wife, spoke about her ex-husband's performance when he held the position of Minister of Health and was in charge of the department during the covid-19 pandemic. According to Andréa, the former minister threw parties while he was in Manaus to follow the public calamity caused by the lack of oxygen, in January 2021. "There was whiskey going on," said Andréa. The dentist stated that the 'parallel office' was incompetent and negligent with the pandemic: "Eduardo (Pazuello) doesn't know what a virus is." According to her, Pazuello's concern at the height of the oxygen crisis in Amazonas was "buying black bags".

When revealing what she witnessed behind the scenes in the management of the oxygen crisis in the capital of Amazonas, Andréa states that she “freaked out” because “it was too much to accept”. “He started making me crazy on the phone. He said: 'You have nothing to do with this. I do have a concern, I'm worried about buying the black bags'”, says the dentist, who separated from the former minister in 2020.

Former minister Eduardo Pazzuelo still did not speak out.

Whiskey party

Barbosa, who was in Manaus during the oxygen crisis in January 2021, claims to have seen members of Pazuello's team neglecting the calamity situation.

'Human laboratory'

In a publication made this Sunday (23) on her Instagram profile, Andréa states that the management of former minister Pazuello was responsible for using the Amazonian state as a human laboratory to test herd immunity against the disease. The dentist denounces that “chloroquine, a drug proven to be ineffective, was even prescribed to pregnant women in a feverish state using the TratCov app”.

Both the dentist and her ex-husband, Eduardo Pazuello, were born in Amazonas. Andréa, who had already made other criticisms of her ex-husband's actions at the Ministry of Health during the pandemic, denies that her statements are personally motivated.

“I will NEVER, never forgive this government and whoever colluded with it. NEVER! MANY – and it says so in big letters because many people think that my indignation with this government is personal. 'Ah, poor thing, the betrayed, spiteful woman', as the right-wing media and the minions of this government translated my indignation. It wasn't because of that! I was simply in Manaus unwillingly, but I was. At that moment I still believed in the salvation of a marriage and I accepted the challenge”, wrote the dentist.

“I was there when thousands of coffins were buried in ditches because the cemetery no longer had space and the president said he was not a gravedigger and therefore had nothing to do with it. I saw people who had a lot of money die without oxygen on the runway and enter the air ICU. I saw people who didn’t have anything to eat die for the same reason and didn’t have the resources to bury their loved one.”, added Barbosa.

Ministry of Health

In a press release, the Ministry stated that “since the beginning of the pandemic, it acted quickly and transparently to streamline prevention, protection and care measures for the Brazilian population”. “The Ministry acquired and distributed more than 518 million vaccines to the population,” he added.
