Datafolha researchers are harassed during survey

Last Tuesday alone, the Datafolha institute recorded ten cases of hostility and even aggression against researchers in different regions of Brazil. In August, in the capital of Minas Gerais, four men chased an interviewer who had to run, fell and injured herself. Journalists have also been targets of verbal attacks and threats from politicians and supporters who identify themselves as Bolsonaristas.

Attacks on Datafolha researchers have already taken place in São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Alagoas, Maranhão, Goiás, Pará, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.

In another episode, in Rio Grande do Sul, a police officer took a researcher for “investigation” claiming to be a voter of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). However, before arriving at the police station, the police officer stopped the car, asked the researcher questions and released him to do his work elsewhere.
