Russia says it will deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, stated this Saturday (25) that Moscow plans to install "tactical" nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus, an allied country located at the gates of the European Union.

“There is nothing new here: the United States has been doing this for decades. They have had their tactical nuclear weapons positioned for a long time in the territory of their allies.”, declared Putin in an interview broadcast on Russian television. “We decided to do the same”, he added, stating that he had the support of the Belarusian government.
