The vice-president, senator-elect and acting president of the Republic, Hamilton Mourão (Republicanos-RS), called a national radio and TV channel for this Saturday (31), to broadcast an end-of-year message in place of Jair Bolsonaro. The president left for the United States and will not perform the democratic rite of handover to the new elected president.
With the departure of Jair Bolsonaro one day before the end of his term, Hamilton Mourão takes over as interim president. And it will be up to him to make the traditional end-of-year and mandate announcement on radio and television on December 31st.
