Tabata Amaral asks for a useful vote for Lula to avoid a 'tumultuous' second round

This Thursday (22), federal deputy and candidate for re-election Tabata Amaral (PSB) used social media to ask for a useful vote for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) - mainly from voters of Ciro Gomes (PDT). In a video, she advocates that voters avoid the possibility of "a second round questiontumultuous, which is exactly what Bolsonarism wants."

Second the deputy, of all candidates currently vying for the presidency of the Republic, that of Ciro Gomes is the one who can help the most to “turn the tide” and “close the account” of Lula’s election in just one round. “Firstly, because he [Ciro] is in third place in research, but also because Ciro’s voters are those most likely to vote for Lula and Alckmin”, says the candidate, who claims to have reflected “long before” recording the message to voters. Former support for Ciro

Tabata left the PDT after his activities in the party were suspended for not following the party's guidance in the vote on pension reform. In the video published this Thursday (22), the deputy directed special message to Ciro Gomes after three years “without speaking” to the candidate, in which he stated that he had deep “respect” for his political trajectory.

“Turn Vote” Campaign

Lula's campaign has sought to attract voters from Ciro Gomes, Simone Tebet (MDB) and undecided in the first round. A video released on Wednesday (21) shows several singers and actors singing “Vira Voto” and using their hands to signal a gun – a reference used by Bolsonaro and his supporters – transforming into Lula’s “L”.

Willing to change

Genial/Quaest research released on Wednesday showed that 26% of voters accept changing their vote to elect the former president in the first round, while 64% reject doing so. Although those who rule out migrating to PT are the majority, the data already represents an asset to the former president's campaign, since, if confirmed, it increases the margin over President Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
