'The Last Of Us' receives homophobic attacks and kisses are censored in some countries

The seventh episode of HBO's The Last Of Us series, released last Sunday (26), has been the target of homophobic attacks on social media. The series featured a same-sex kiss, the reason for the attacks.

Titled “Left Behind”, the chapter focuses on the past of the character Ellie (Bella Ramsay) and her friendship with Riley (Storm Reid), which, throughout the story, evolves into a romance, culminating in a kiss between the characters. The sequence was even praised by fans and critics for its lightness and emotion.

In interview with EW, Reid commented on the homophobic attacks that the series has been receiving.

“As Bella [Ramsey] said when episode three aired, it's simple: if you don't like it, don't watch it.” Based on the game of the same name created by Naughty Dog, the series has already aired an entire episode about the love story of the characters Bill (Nick Offerman) and Frank (Murray Bartlett).

In addition to the attacks on social media, according to some Twitter users, episode 7 of 'The Last of Us' parts of it were censored in some regions of the world.
