Will Smith attends first awards ceremony after slap at Oscar 2022

On Wednesday (1st), Will Smith made his first appearance at a film awards ceremony after the controversial slap he gave comedian Chris Rock at the Oscar ceremony in 2022. The actor received the Beacon Award at the African American Film Critics Association Awards ( largest association of black critics in the United States) for his role in the film 'Emancipation - A Story of Freedom'.

“Emancipation was the most difficult film of my entire career. It's really difficult to transport a modern mind to that time. It is difficult to imagine this level of inhumanity,” he said. Will Smith in his speech.
