British royal family announces date for Charles III's coronation

On May 6, 2023, at Buckingham Palace, the coronation ceremony of Charles III, heir to the throne of Queen Elizabeth II, will take place, eight months after his death. The date was announced this Tuesday (11) by the royal family: "The coronation will reflect the role of the monarch today and will look to the future", explains the statement.

Although Charles III has already been sworn in as monarch, he has not yet received the crown. His mother also took a long time to be crowned after becoming queen; more than a year passed between the two traditional ceremonies in the case of Elizabeth II. (UOL)
