Demonstrations in support of Cristina Kirchner bring together thousands of people in Argentina

Thousands of people demonstrated this Saturday in public squares and avenues in Argentina in support of Vice President Cristina Kirchner, who faces a trial for corruption and a prosecutor's request for 12 years in prison and political disqualification.

The call for the protest was made on social media. Cristina Kirchner, 69, was accused with 12 other people of the crimes of illicit association and aggravated fraudulent administration in a case of corruption in public works bidding when she was president (2007-2015).
