André de Paula: who is the Minister of Fisheries in the new Lula government?

André de Paula was chosen by President Lula to head the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture in the PT member's third term. Find out more about the life and political career of the new minister.

Who is André de Paula?

Andrew de Paula He is a federal deputy. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for the first time in 1998 and, since then, won a place in all subsequent elections until the 2018 election. He is currently a member of the PSD.

He is from Recife, a lawyer by training and a career public servant. He is 61 years old.

At times during his successive mandates in the Chamber, Andrew de Paula He graduated to take up positions in the government of Pernambuco. He was Secretary of Rural Production and Agrarian Reform between 1999 and 2002 and Secretary of State for Cities in the State of Pernambuco in 2015 and 2016.
