Cristiano Ronaldo reaches 500 million followers on Instagram

Even with the controversies involving Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to be pop. The star is in contention for the World Cup and continues to break records, even off the field. This Monday (21) Cristiano reached 500 million followers on Instagram and is the first person in the world to reach that number.

According to Hopper HQ, a company specializing in social media, Cristiano Ronaldo receives, on average, 1,4 million euros (around R$7,6 million) per post promoting his sponsors on Instagram.

He even surpasses The Rock, or Dwayne Johnson, who earns 1,3 million euros (R$7 million) for sponsored content.

“Reaching 500 million followers on IG reinforces the effective result of the strategic planning, the dedication, the focus, the incomparable product that CR7 achieved”, says Fábio Wolff, managing partner of Wolff Sports. In 2021, the Portuguese star had the most expensive post on Instagram. According to a survey by consultancy Statista, the player charged, on average, US$ 1,6 million per post on the social network.

The explosion of new CR7 followers was due to the luxury brand Louis Vuitton's campaign alongside another world football star, Messi, from the Argentine national team. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder's account also gained millions of new followers and reached 376 this morning.
