To enter the guide, a survey is carried out based on the opinions of travelers from all over the worldO. Bauru was the only Brazilian on the list, even well ranked: in 38th position. 😋
Furthermore, the credit for the achievement in the ranking went to Casimiro Pinto Neto. Have you heard of it? In the 1930s he was a law student and customer at Ponto Chic, a snack bar in the center of São Paulo, where he always had a special order, made just for him: the Bauru!
The young man was from the city of Bauru, in the interior of São Paulo, and helped create the snack that later became the biggest attraction of the place.

Who tops 'The Taste Atlas' list?
First place is a Turkish sandwich, the tombik, or gobit kebab. It's that sandwich in which the meat is shredded and the filling is a flat bread known as pide ekmek.
In second place is the Peruvian “butifarra”. The snack includes jamón, a mixture of cooked pork leg meat, olive oil, garlic, pepper and red pepper.
Thirdly, our Argentine 'hermanos' come up with the sirloin sandwich. The dish is a powerful version of the meat snack and features delicious chimichurri sauce.
